Rae Assist™ is the first personal information assistant software for PowerBook™ and Macintosh®.
Rae Assist helps users easily manage their business and personal contacts, schedule, to dos, projects, notes and pictures in one convenient and highly integrated application. Users can freely link and categorize all their information to stay organized, and a Smart Assistant™ finds, links and creates information to save users time.
Rae Assist organizes information in a simple yet powerful electronic binder with interrelated sections for People, Companies, Planner, To Dos, Projects, Items and Smart Index™. Users can easily list and sort information in each section or across sections using the Smart Index. Navigational features such as Find and Recent make it easy to go to information from any section.
The People and Companies sections help users list, sort and print their contacts. The Planner lets users schedule activities by day, week and month views. The To Do and Project sections help users manage simple tasks, as well as more sophisticated activities involving groups of contacts and tasks. Users can also import notes and pictures they want at hand, such as directions, maps, meeting minutes, electronic mail and phone message logs.
By using built-in tags or customizing their own, users can categorize information for easy retreival. For example, users can list or find people who are clients or hot leads, companies tagged assuppliers, or all information tagged as billable.
Rae Assist includes a Smart Assistant who helps users easily import, find and link information. Users can also print envelopes, labels and schedules in a variety of formats, including standard Avery® labels. Print template editors are included.
Instead of using four applications to help organize your work and life, you can now enter your appointment “Meet John” and link it to John and other meeting attendees, as well as to the company where the meeting will be held, a map of directions, notes on the agenda, and any other information within your binder. You can quickly go to linked information with a click or two.
“Users live in the product”, says Dave Kleinberg, Vice President of Marketing. “They start by managing their contacts and schedule and soon realize they can weave their business and personal information together.”
Target users include users of PowerBook, Duo™, and Macintosh who wish to better organize their business and personal information, especially when on the road. The company is investigating a multi-user version of Rae Assist.
“Rae Assist is built on a proprietary information architecture designed for creating products and custom applications. Weve combined an object-based way of managing data with the advantages of a powerful relational database”, says Dave Dell’Aquila, Vice President of Products. “This lets us quickly customize Rae Assist for corporate customer needs.”
